STRAIGHT SION  IF-16-PEER-901 B Ch C

I am listing a few straight Sions which should make great breeders. This family of [Paul] Sion has been maintained and kept straight for about 60 years by Harvey Peer of New Jersey through a judicious program of line-breeding and inbreeding and strict selection. It is primarily based on the very successful Landing View Loft “Black Eyed Sions” of years ago, with additions of some select birds from the Charles Heitzman and Madrona Loft [Paul] Sion lines. It is interesting to note that the dark mahogany / chestnut / wine colored eyes, which were so characteristic of the old Landing View Sions, are still prevalent in a large number of the Sions in this family. These Sions are generally medium in size with some being a little below medium and some slightly over medium and, in spite of the many years of linebreeding and inbreeding, they have maintained their strength and vigor. Overall, they are characterized by good backs, very strong vents, and wonderful eyes. They are also great looking birds which is typical of the old [Paul] Sion strain. Since this is a closely line-bred and inbred family, they should make an ideal cross with most other strains.

IF-16-PEER-901 B Ch C - This is an excellent yearling cock. I consider him to be medium in size. He is a good looking bird and is from a brother / sister mating. He has been vaccinated for paratyphoid (salmonella). Please see the attached pedigree.
